These hands are yummy!

Andrew has discovered that he has hands... and they (and everything else) go directly to his mouth. He is getting really good at grabbing things now (batting at his toys, finding his thumb to go in his mouth, grabbing Mommy's hair... but luckily not pulling yet!). He is such a little flirt and he will "talk" to us for a really long time sometimes! It is amazing how much more personality he has and how much more interactive he is than just a couple of weeks ago!

And then it's all worth it...

Well, to make a long story short it hasn't been a good night... just one of those nights where Chad isn't home and I was getting completely overwhelmed by mommyhood and life in general and Andrew was seemingly inconsolable (I *still* haven't figured out what was wrong). So I put him down in his crib and calmed him down a little and decided I might as well get him ready for bed... mid-clothes-changing he decides he's in a great mood and wants to smile and "talk" and have fun Mommy-baby time. Here he is in his rocker after getting changed into night clothes... I'm sure bedtime will be soon...

and now he's upset about something again... and I thought I had mood swings... :)

Bathtime

Andrew's Saturday night baths are one of the few things we have kept as a routine no matter whose house we have been sleeping at the past few months. We seem to have lots of bath pictures but here are some of the most recent from Saturday's bath.

Andrew just got his little bathrobe from a friend of ours the other night so we had to put it on him this week. :) He is starting to really like taking a bath and kick around a little and smile... I'm sure that baths will get a lot more fun (and we will get a lot more wet!) in the next few months! Chad can't wait to help Andrew play with all of his bath toys!

Don't you wish you slept this well?

Andrew is (usually) such a good sleeper... we can put him in bed at night and turn on his "movie" (a Gloworm crib attachment that scrolls scenes and plays lullabies) or his lullaby CD and he will go right to sleep and wake up 7-8 hours later. He has been so tired lately because we have been so busy -- I'm sure he is happy just to see his crib again! Yesterday he was so tired and fussy we were worried that he wasn't feeling very well... but around 7:00 last night we decided to run to Target and by the time we got there he was happy again. Maybe he just wanted to get out of the house. We went shopping for a birthday present for Brennan, whose birthday party we are going to tonight, and had fun playing on the toy aisle (we'll have to stop that before Andrew is big enough to start wanting the toys!).

I love watching him wake up too... if you pick him up when he first wakes up (and not when he wakes up crying!) he will S T R E T CH and yawn and just look around... it is really cute even though he really doesn't seem to be a morning person...

To Grandmother's House We Go...

Andrew has become quite a little traveler! We have become experts on packing to go to Nashville to visit his Granny and family there... when we visited this past weekend we just stayed on and flew to Washington, D.C. to visit his Grandma (and the rest of Chad's family) too! Andrew was great... he slept in the airport until time to get on the plane and this picture says it all about what he thought about the flight!

It is our new favorite picture. :) Andrew was so good on the plane and is having lots of fun gettng to meet even more family! He must be growing a lot too -- either that or flying makes him really hungry! We'll post some more pics from our trip in a few days!

All dressed up and nowhere to go...

Well, at least for a few minutes. :) Chad was working downtown with the Grizzles this morning and I was supposed to be taking Andrew for his 2 month checkup... until I got all ready to go and stepped out the door and discovered Chad had taken my car (his truck is a stick shift that I can't drive... anyway, the car seat base is in my car)! Since we have both been home we have just been using my car because we are usually together anyway... and I guess Chad forgot we both needed to be driving somewhere at the same time today! Anyway... I called him and he came home and we got to the doctor's a few minutes late... all that meant was no wait! :)

Andrew did great at the doctor's... he weighs 12 lbs, 4.5 oz. and is 24 inches long. He was all happy and social with the doctor and then cried when he got his shots. :( But he recovered quickly and fell asleep before we got out to the car to go home. He's been running a little fever and been a little fussy but overall I think he's doing great for getting stuck 3 times. Guess I'll go cuddle with him a little, that always helps when you feel bad, right?
